The Shepherd’s Center announces caregivers program, volunteer orientation

Start the New Year off by volunteering for one of these important programs offered by The Shepherd’s Center of Greater Winston-Salem. 

VOLUNTEER!

A volunteer orientation will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 11, from 10 – 11:30 a.m. at the Shepherd’s Center, 1700 Ebert St. Opportunities include:

*Providing rides to medical appointments or grocery shopping 

*Minor home repairs

*Respite and visitation for older adults 

*Office work

*Medicare counseling.

Are you a caregiver of an older adult?  Would you like to reduce stress and become a stronger self-advocate?  If so, the Powerful Tools for Caregivers series is for you! Sponsored by The Shepherd’s Center of Greater Winston-Salem and Oak Street Health, the six-week series will begin on Thursday, Feb. 20, and run for six consecutive Thursdays from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. with lunch provided. 

The class location is the Mary Alice Warren Community Center, 7632 Warren Park Dr., Lewisville. SPACE IS LIMITED. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Register by contacting Meredith Brown-Robbins at 336-748-0217 or mbrobbins@shepherdscenter.org.
